April 2011 - Back to the Nest

After our visit last month we were determined to come back to the Finca to see the eagles when the chick(s) had hatched.

Our friends Pete and Linda were visiting their apartment and Kathie's brother Paul was in Spain for a short while so we organized another lunch trip. Our friend Yvonne had said she would like to go again so we collected her on the way.

We had great fun finding the place as it is buried deep in the mountains and I could not remember the turning to take from the "main" road up to the finca. We found it eventually after a couple of diversions.

Jane excelled again with a lovely lunch starting with her homemade tomato and basil soup, followed by chicken cooked in lime and mountain herbs with baby roast potatoes, and to finish we had a very light lemon pudding with cream and ice cream. It was all topped off with delicious coffee and a homemade chocolate. The wine was plentiful and only us designated drivers had to hold back.

The eagles were busier on this visit as they had young to feed, We saw more of them but only caught a glimpse of the kids as they were hunkered down in their nest.

I think everybody enjoyed the visit and thanks once again goes to Jane and Colin for their hospitality and delicious food.
